The Social Development Commission chairman in the Venezuelan National Assembly, Oswaldo Vera, said enact a general wage increase would hurt "at any given time" to sectors of Venezuelan small and medium industries.

Vera reiterated that some companies have their own mechanisms for a salary adjustment. "In places where there are business contracts, and there are good professionals in small companies, would be the individual negotiation (how to get a raise)," he said.
