In recent days the administration of Tocumen International Airport has suffered several setbacks in its attempt to fill positions that are vital to the facility's operation.

After canceling some contracts granted by the last government due to irregularities, the administrators have tried unsuccessfully to hire companies to provide these service, such as garbage collection and cleaning.

The award for the cleaning of the terminal has been delayed twice due to issues in the bidding process. There are currently 13 companies vying for the contract.

It has also struggled with the issue of garbage and the maintenance of the air conditioning system.

The air conditioning issue has led to numerous complaints by passengers. Airport managers have said that issue is going to be addressed this week.
