Journalists demanded in a communiqué from the Venezuelan National Assembly (AN) the abrogation of article 66 of the Interior and Debate Regulations of the National Assembly (AN), which prohibits mass media from entering the Congress.

"Five years ago, journalists were evicted from the hemicycle of the National Assembly, an area of informational coverage where they could work for several decades with the amplitude, respect and facilities required for their important work," the document reads.

"Reporters responsible for coverage of the source were reduced to a tiny room where they can see only the broadcast of ANTV, coverage with restrictions and discrimination that prevents citizens from having a direct and comprehensive view of the plenary session," said Carlos Julio Rojas of NGO Periodistas y Punto.
